Dots' virtual computer runs Blender — a Japanese outlet had it model a 3D pagoda over two days
OpenAI's Dots agent built a 3D model of Nara's Horyu-ji Five-Story Pagoda in Blender over about two days, a Korean report says. Dots' cloud computers include the 3D modeling tool, pushing the agent beyond office work into creative production.
What happened
A BigGo report on OpenAI's Oct 8 "Women Who Codex" event in Seoul says Dots' virtual computers include the 3D modeling tool Blender, letting the agent do 3D modeling by instruction without a local PC. A Japanese tech outlet tested this by asking Dots to model the Five-Story Pagoda at Nara's Horyu-ji Temple — the world's oldest surviving wooden five-story pagoda at 32.55 meters. Over roughly two days of intermittent work, Dots iterated through multiple revisions and finished a model the outlet described as considerably complete. The same report quotes OpenAI APAC Enablement Lead Cheon Ji-eun saying she runs 18 AI agents on Dots: "Because of the cloud functionality, you can issue commands and work from anywhere, at any time."
Why it matters
This is the first public evidence of Dots' virtual computers arriving with a creative toolchain, not just office apps — extending the "own computer" vision into 3D production work. The outlet also notes Dots automatically creates separate threads per work type, which fixes the context-mixing problem of doing varied tasks in one ChatGPT conversation. Availability note: Dots remains on Pro plans priced at $100 or more per month.
