OpenAI spotlights Higgsfield: AI video stretched from 1 minute to over 10 with GPT-6 Astra
OpenAI published a Higgsfield partner story on Oct 13: GPT-6 Astra stretched AI video from about 1 minute to over 10. GPT-Image-2.5 sharpens visuals; GPT-Live-1 targets voice-to-video.
What happened
OpenAI published a partner story on Oct 13 about Higgsfield, the AI video startup founded in 2023 by former Snap executive Alex Mashrabov. Before GPT-6 Astra, Higgsfield's AI videos topped out at about one minute; Mashrabov says users can now create videos over 10 minutes long.
The story names three OpenAI models: GPT-6 Astra for long-form video, with Higgsfield's creative agents calling external tools for 3D modeling work and tackling consistency across longer videos; GPT-Image-2.5 for sharper visuals, which Mashrabov calls "state of the art and the first model of its kind that can reliably render the text and infographics on top of the imagery"; and GPT-Live-1 behind a "voice to movie" vision where a creator describes an idea and watches it render in real time.
Higgsfield also says its creative team uses Codex to turn ideas into software prototypes, and that GPT-6 Astra "can ship production-ready code."
Why it matters
This is the first public datapoint tying GPT-6 Astra to long-form AI video: a 10x jump in output length, with GPT-Image-2.5 and GPT-Live-1 named in a production context.
It shows how OpenAI is marketing its model stack through partner case studies while its flagship GPT-6.1 Astra remains shelved over safety concerns reported by the WSJ in September.
