Miro relaunches Intelligent Canvas: AI agents join the board as cursors, live for all users today

Verified· Oct 20, 2026Published Oct 20, 2026

Miro relaunched its Intelligent Canvas on Oct 20, 2026: an AI-native workspace where agents from ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot join the board as cursors via MCP, co-editing prototypes, diagrams, and docs in real time. Live for Self-Serve now, Enterprise in public beta.

What happened

Miro announced the new Intelligent Canvas on October 20, 2026, calling it "Miro, reimagined for AI-native teams where people work alongside agents." Any agent now shows up as a cursor on the canvas and works next to human teammates, creating and editing in real time like any other collaborator.

The launch brings: rich HTML prototypes designed directly on the canvas (shared context for coding projects), diagrams in Miro's diagramming editor, and the tables, Kanban boards, timelines, slide decks, and documents teams already use. Connectors plug boards into the team's existing tools, embedding agents in their latest context.

It works with third-party agents too — Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot connect via MCP. The feature is live now for all Self-Serve accounts and in public beta for Enterprise accounts.

Why it matters

The canvas-as-shared-context race is heating up: OpenAI launched the collaborative ChatGPT Space layer at DevDay 2026, and Miro is now positioning its canvas as "the best form factor for AI-native teams." Four days ago, Miro teamed up with the Codex Community in Singapore to demo Miro plus ChatGPT Work powered by GPT-6 Astra, using Miro's MCP server to go from canvas ideas to working code and back.
