ChatGPT Slides gets real-time collaboration: share decks, edit together, leave comments

#What happened

OpenAI announced new features for ChatGPT Slides in an official @ChatGPT post on X on October 19, 2026:

• Real-time collaboration: share decks with others, edit together in real time, and leave comments. Ask ChatGPT or your dot to turn feedback into updates.
• Direct on-slide editing: click on the slide to change text, update charts, and move or resize images and shapes.
• To get started, ask ChatGPT to "create ChatGPT slides" from an existing conversation or a file you have shared. Present the deck directly in ChatGPT, or export it to PowerPoint or Google Slides.
• The new features are available only on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.

#Why it matters

ChatGPT Slides is moving closer to a full Google Slides and PowerPoint competitor: AI-generated decks now get real-time co-editing and direct on-slide editing. Both features sit behind paid plans for now, continuing OpenAI's paid-first rollout pattern for productivity tools.
