Japan is OpenAI's #2 market for dots by weekly active users
OpenAI Japan president Tadao Nagasaki said Japan is the world's second-largest dots market by weekly active users, three weeks after the always-on agents launched.

Tadao Nagasaki, president of OpenAI Japan, said on October 20 that Japan ranks second in the world in weekly active users of dots, OpenAI's always-on agents inside ChatGPT, according to ITmedia AI+ (via the October 22 AI news briefing). Nagasaki's ranking covers weekly active usage of the dots feature launched at DevDay on September 29.
Why it matters
Landing at #2 just three weeks after launch makes Japan the strongest early-adoption market for dots after the leader. It extends Japan's standout usage pattern for OpenAI products: OpenAI opened its first Asia office in Tokyo in April 2024 with Nagasaki at the helm, and Japan has consistently ranked near the top for ChatGPT weekly usage.
