Austin-based RapidCanvas raised nearly $29M in a Series B led by Vertex Ventures and Hitachi Ventures to build autonomous AI agents that automate enterprise data science work. The round was confirmed by CEO Rahul Pangam to Axios Pro on October 15, 2026.

What happened

RapidCanvas, an Austin-based startup building AI agents for enterprise data teams, raised nearly $29 million in a Series B round. The round was led jointly by Vertex Ventures and Hitachi Ventures. CEO Rahul Pangam confirmed the funding to Axios Pro on October 15, 2026.

Its platform automates the middle layer of machine learning work (data preparation, feature engineering, model selection, deployment) behind a no-code interface aimed at data science teams.

No post-money valuation was disclosed. Pangam said a Series C is a future possibility with no timeline locked in.

Why it matters

Investors are rewarding narrowly focused agent companies even as the big labs (OpenAI Dots, Google Gemini agent, Meta Muse) bundle agent capabilities into their core products. Independent platforms must now win enterprise buyers on depth in one workflow, not breadth.
