Robinhood unveiled Robinhood Agents at its HOOD Summit on September 30, 2026: user-built AI agents that analyze markets, develop strategies, and execute stock, options, and crypto trades, powered by models from OpenAI and Anthropic.

What happened

Robinhood unveiled Robinhood Agents at its HOOD Summit on September 30, 2026. Users can build AI agents that analyze markets, develop strategies, and execute trades without technical setup. The agents operate through dedicated accounts where users set trading limits and require approval before transactions.

Currently the agents can place long equity, options, and cryptocurrency orders. The agents rely on AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic.

Robinhood also plans to offer up to 10x leverage for Bitcoin and Ether, and is proposing weekend trading for U.S. stocks and ETFs (pending regulatory approval) to create a seven-day-a-week trading environment.

Since launching AI trading tools in May, more than 150,000 customers have opened accounts using Robinhood's AI tools, and agents use Robinhood's tools nearly 30 million times per day.

A planned "Loops" feature will allow users to run recurring trading strategies around the clock, with trade approvals turned on by default. CEO Vlad Tenev discussed the expansion on CNBC's Squawk Box and in a Fox Business interview on September 30, framing it as a major shift in how retail investing operates. This follows Robinhood's May launch of tools letting third-party AI agents connect via the Model Context Protocol.

Why it matters

Robinhood's Agents put AI trading agents powered by the two leading model labs (OpenAI and Anthropic) directly into a retail brokerage with guardrails built in — user-set limits, dedicated accounts, and trade approvals on by default. It comes one day after OpenAI and Anthropic's own agent pushes (Dots, Muse) at the same peak of the agentic-agent news cycle, and the 10x crypto leverage plus weekend-trading proposals show how fast retail brokerages are moving toward always-on markets and always-on agents. Regulators have yet to weigh in.
