Sign in with ChatGPT widens: Go plan joins, open-source tools open to all
OpenAI's Sign in with ChatGPT program widens: the Go plan joins Plus and Pro for spending included usage inside third-party apps, and open-source tools remain open to all ChatGPT users.
What happened
OpenAI's help center article "Using your ChatGPT plan in other apps and sites" now lists three plans, not two: anyone with a Go, Plus, or Pro plan can choose to use included ChatGPT usage in participating commercial apps and sites. At the September 29 DevDay 2026 launch it was Plus and Pro only.
Why it matters
The same help center article says supported open-source tools "remain available to all ChatGPT users." OpenAI's developer pages describe an open-source sign-in flow that registers a client and issues OAuth credentials for eligible Responses API requests, needing no client secret and no partner API key. Named examples in OpenAI's material include OpenCode, OpenClaw, Pi by Earendil, and T3. The unchanged rules: eligible requests still count toward the ChatGPT Work and Codex usage in your plan; you can set a weekly cap for each app in Settings, then Usage; an app cap is a limit, not a separate pool of usage; credits are off by default; and an app can still require a higher plan than Go - availability also depends on the app's own plan requirements.
Context
