Day 13 of Tibo's 28-day pledge: full Codex limit reset for all users
On Oct 17, 2026, Codex lead Thibault Sottiaux announced Day 13 of the 28-day ship-or-reset pledge with a full usage-limit reset for all Codex users, logged by tracker QuotaTick at 16:20 UTC.
What happened
Thibault Sottiaux (@thsottiaux), OpenAI's Codex product lead, posted "Day 13/ Le limit reset" on X at 9:20 AM PDT on October 17, 2026. Codex reset tracker QuotaTick logged it as a full limit reset for all users at 16:20 UTC. The entry quotes Tibo's post directly and classifies the scope as "Full reset / All users."
Why it matters
This is Day 13 of the 28-day pledge Sottiaux announced on October 4: each day, either ship one clear improvement relevant to most Codex/Work users, or ship a full reset. Days 11 and 12 were the ship leg (GPT-Live-1.1 and a Codex/Work caching improvement). Today he chose the reset leg, which restores usage headroom for users who hit their limits.
The pledge so far
Day 10 brought an actual reset on October 15 ("Done and dusted"), and the willreset.com tracker shows the October 17 announcement arriving at 16:21 UTC - right in line with this post.
