Day 17 of Tibo's 28-day pledge: the Codex usage reset has landed

Verified· Oct 22, 2026Published Oct 22, 2026

Tibo confirmed the Day-17 global Codex usage reset on X ('it's reset day today'), and the tracker marks it landed with limits full again. It is the seventh reset of the 28-day ship-or-reset campaign.

What happened

Thibault Sottiaux (@thsottiaux), OpenAI's Codex product lead, confirmed the Day-17 Codex usage reset on X this morning: "Bet you thought we forgot, but no, it's reset day today." The Tibo Reset tracker logs it as a confirmed global Codex reset and notes: "Your limits should be full again."

Why it matters

This is the seventh reset of Tibo's 28-day ship-or-reset campaign, following resets on Days 3, 6, 8, 10, 13 and 15. It landed right inside the promised window: Tibo had said it would land before 10am PT, and the tracker logged the confirmation at 10:10am PT. If you hit a Codex weekly or five-hour limit this week, check your usage — the window should be refreshed.

One more nudge from Tibo

In the same post he urged developers to sign up for Daybreak Blue access ahead of time ("it only takes 15 mins"), rather than waiting for a security incident. Daybreak is OpenAI's Trusted Access for Cyber program; Daybreak Blue is one of its access tiers. Dotsfeed covered Daybreak Blue in an earlier post.
