Dots
Ask your Dot to save voice-call transcripts to memory and Obsidian
After each voice call, a standing Dot instruction can save the available transcript and a concise, structured summary to Dot memory and an Obsidian vault—without inventing missing dialogue or retaining secrets.
What changed
Voice calls with a ChatGPT or Codex Dot may not be saved by default. Brad Groux (@BradGroux) shared a standing prompt that tells the Dot, after each voice call, to store the available transcript plus a concise summary in Dot memory and in an Obsidian vault he calls “Brain,” including date, participants, decisions, ideas, action items, owners, deadlines, and unresolved questions—without inventing missing dialogue or retaining secrets.
Who is affected
ChatGPT / Codex Dot users who take voice calls and want durable notes in Dot memory and a personal vault (for example, Obsidian).
What to do now
Paste a standing instruction into your Dot (or save it as a rule) that after each voice call it should save the transcript and a concise summary to memory and to your established notes destination; update rather than duplicate facts; distinguish proposals from approved decisions; label incomplete transcripts clearly; never invent missing dialogue; and never keep passwords or tokens. Confirm what was saved; if anything failed, have it say what remains unsaved.
What is not confirmed
This is a community field tip on X, not an official OpenAI product change. Whether every Dot plan or region supports vault write paths the same way is not independently verified here. Verification status: Observed.
